We wanted to bring in expertise for clinics the public health department funds to roll out telehealth. The clinic didn't have any prior experience conducting telehealth group, and we wanted to support and provide expertise needed to guide them through setting up their telehealth diabetes management program.
Sam tackles every problem with creativity and pragmatism - she really helped the clinic think strategically about how they were building their program and was able to guide them through best practices in terms of patient engagement and staff training. She asks thoughtful questions to get to the root of issues, and brings such a level of professionalism and enthusiasm to this work.
Sam then trained the staff on best practices for virtual diabetes education. At our next call the clinical lead described how important the training was to get the whole staff on board with telehealth delivery of their program. She also shared how much more comfortable and prepared they were because of Sam's training. The clinic successfully completed their first patient cohort, all via telehealth, and are set up for getting their diabetes education program accredited later this year!
