Welcome to Camera Confidence

for Clinicians

Hi, I'm Sam

WANT TO KNOW WHY YOU’RE FEELING DRAINED AND STRESSED DURING VIDEO VISITS? OR MAYBE YOU ALREADY GAVE UP AND YOU’RE ONLY USING THE PHONE.

No one is a ‘natural’ on camera. In fact it’s super awkward.

You know telehealth and video visits are here to stay but honestly you wish you could just go back to business as usual, 100% in person care.

You might be using telemedicine but it’s taking way more time, you don’t feel connected to your patients and you don’t feel confident you’re delivering good clinical care.

The reasons video visits aren’t working for your is because:

  • You’re not comfortable on camera
  • You don’t feel competent in your clinical abilities through video
  • The tech feels overwhelming for your and your patient

It’s time for you to be confident and capable with video visits to keep your practice moving forward no matter what the future brings.

DO THIS RIGHT AWAY FOR TELEHEALTH!

Clinicians I work with see immediate results when they start to do a few simple things during video visits.

Acknowledge That Video Feels Weird For Direct Patient Care
Telehealth is not intended to replace in person care. It’s not an all or nothing scenario. Telemedicine is only a tool to deliver clinical care.

  • There will always be things you can’t treat and patients you can’t serve through video.

  • Use video when clinically appropriate and you’ll find over time that your scope and range of services will expand as your camera confidence grows.

Lean into Your Skills of Patient Connection and Bring that to Your Video Visits

  • When you step into the room with your patient, you’re on. The years of clinical training kick in, you’re on autopilot processing information, you make eye contact, you connect and you serve your patient.

  • This IS possible through video but as with any new clinical tool you have to learn the nuances and practice before it comes naturally.

There are two things you can do right now to feel more connected with your patients.

#1 - MAKE EYE CONTACT!!!

Raise your camera, laptop or computer so you’re eye level with the camera.
Looking down on people is weird and unprofessional. No one wants to be looking up your nostrils.

#2 - Get in natural light!

Good lighting makes you feel fresh and bright. It also hides the wrinkles and evens out your skin tone.
Sitting in front of a window with natural light will instantly change how you look on camera.

Get these two things going right away, your stress level will decrease, your connection with your patient will increase and your finely tuned clinical skills will kick back into high gear.

In Camera Confidence for Clinicians not only do I teach you how to be comfortable with video visits, but I dive much deeper into your skills for telehealth success.
